Architecture

knowledge base

Praga Północ is one of the few districts of Warsaw to retain its pre-war architecture and unique character. Most of the buildings come from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, as well as the interwar period. The hardships of the war left their mark on the buildings located on the right bank of the Vistula, but the scale of the damage was incomparably smaller.
Destroyed and neglected brick houses, such as those on Brzeska Street, as well as neoclassical and neoclassical buildings, are examples of pre-war Prague architecture.
